Woman Slammed For Using Ex’s Money to Fund Her Lifestyle

A man found support online after he revealed that he unknowingly was financing his ex-wife’s lifestyle and the internet is criticizing his wife and daughter for the situation.

The now viral post, titled “AITA to Stop Funds,” has garnered 8,800 positive votes and 800 comments since it was shared on June 1st. Redditor @throwdilemm shared the post on the subreddit “I’m the hole in the A **” and eight years ago he found his wife cheating.

After that, the wife of the original poster (OP) left him, and although she shared custody of her children, who are now 21 and 19, they wanted to stay with their mother. His father was fine with that while he could see them.

“I worked harder and got better income and covered all of my extra expenses even after the little ones turned 18,” the man explained. “I even paid for the college funds myself even though the court ordered both of them to pay equally. In addition to paying the tuition, I paid other expenses (car, expensive clothes, electronics, vacation, etc.) but after a while my daughter was barely in touch. “

Your daughter sends you text messages with the amount and where to send, and the PO is required. But two weeks ago, her 19-year-old son arrived at his father’s door after two months without knowing anything about him.

The OP’s son told her that her sister dropped out of college after a couple of months and that the OP had been “funding” her ex and her new children’s “lifestyle” all these years while her partner left her after her third child.

The OP continued: “My daughter has been using me as my son to help her mother and her own lifestyle. Upon discovering this, I stopped the money train. It turns out that neither my ex nor my daughter work and “They used my cash to fund their lifestyle. They can now be evicted if I don’t keep paying. I’m not eliminating my son while he came out clean.”

According to Statista, by 2021 there were 214.21 million unemployed in the world. That number has decreased compared to 2020, when the number of unemployed people was 223.67 million.

In a comment to another user, the OP added that he offered to keep his daughter with him. “She says only on the condition that her mother and her half-siblings are also allowed,” the OP wrote. “She says they won’t stay here while my wife and my two youngest children are here.”

But that was not all she wanted. “She wants me to rent them out and / or send them to my in-laws until she can help her and her mother’s financial and economic situation.” “I can’t do it. It’s not fair to my wife and young children.” He also added that he wants the OP to find them a smaller rent – one with five bedrooms.

Although the OP has suggested family therapy, her daughter says she will forgive him when he starts paying for things again. “She says I owe it to her mother because we used to be married to take care of her other three children until they come of age,” the OP said. “I don’t think it’s my responsibility at all. Especially because I did it for so many years when they weren’t my kids.”

As for the OP son, he now lives with his father and has been told that he can live there for free and that he will also receive a subsidy. However, this fall you need to have a part-time job or go back to school.

It turns out that her son had an argument with her ex as she wanted him to “ask for a monthly increase”, and the OP’s son “felt bad about it and felt it was time to tell it”.

The OP’s daughter sent him more than 40 messages a day, as well as calls “asking” for money as they can’t afford next month’s rent for a six-bedroom house.

“She went down to my place but refuses to be under the same roof as my wife,” he added. “Then she wanted me to go with her to discuss the matter further in a restaurant. I told her to talk to me at my house or not to talk to me at all.”

In addition, the OP revealed that her ex-boyfriend left almost four years ago. He was unaware that he was “barely” working, “and reasoned,” Looks like he was funding everyone’s lifestyle. “

People are overwhelmingly on the OP side and criticize her ex for using her money to fund her lifestyle and also her daughter. A Redditor who does not believe the man is wrong, pointed out that his daughter is an adult and she “chose to lie and steal from him.”

“You are not responsible for your ex or your children,” they said. “There are these things called jobs that most people get to make money and stay. Starbucks and Trader Joe pay well.”

A Redditor called his daughter and mother “big holes” and they didn’t stop there with their thoughts on the matter.

“Your ex was a trap scum, and your daughter apologizes and thinks you owe it to her and her nasty mother,” they wrote. “They’re both gold diggers and they played with you for an idiot. I’m glad you found out about his deception and that supporting your adventure partner only adds insult to injury.”

Another user missed words, and voted NTA, or not the hole as his verdict. “And the fucking audacity of these women is unfathomable,” they added. “Do they want you to move your wife and children so they can move? Are they tall? I think it’s time for them to enter the job application circuit and learn to stay.”

One Redditor thinks the OP’s daughter and her ex are “so selfish”, and even added that if they wanted to they were “confident” that he could sue them.

“If they try to fight you for it, I would let them know that they are lucky that you are not suing them,” they said. “I’m very angry with your daughter for thinking that her choices are a good way to live her life.”

Another user thinks the OP should continue to help his son while he went to him and confessed. “Your ex has soiled it and has been reaping the benefits beyond the need,” they wrote. The user also added: “They are adults, they need to find out for themselves. You have supported your children during their lives and you have done your part.”

Advice came on what the OP should do in the situation. “Not NTA,” one user said. “Your daughter is an adult. Your wife too. They’ve been lying and essentially stealing from you. Cut them off and let them get jobs to pay their way.”

One user thinks the OP should continue to support his child, but was advised to “take steps to make sure the money goes for what” it is intended for. “What his ex-wife and daughter did is horrible,” they added. “They made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.”

This is not the only viral moment involving families. The internet was shattered by a stepmother who caught her drunken stepson at a party. One woman was supported by tricking her in-laws into eating their food. In addition, the Internet has defended a mother who put a lock on the door of her 10-year-old son’s bedroom.
